The Kingston Police would like to warn the public of a recent scam in our area. “Fake” taxi/Uber scams have recently been reported in the area and are likely to continue through the holiday season.

On December 5, 2025, at approximately 12:25 p.m. an officer with the Kingston Police CORE Unit assigned to the downtown area was notified of a theft occurring in the area of Princess Street and Sydenham Street.
On December 2, 2025, the Kingston Police became aware of an online post which alleges a store owner intentionally threw water on an unidentified unhoused individual who was situated near the business.
On November 30, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division were doing proactive enforcement in the area of Bath Road and Days Road when they observed an individual exit a licensed establishment and get into the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.
On November 6, 2025, shortly after midnight two members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division were in the area of Princess Street and Bagot Street when their attention was drawn to a vehicle revving its engine at a red light.
